Be aware of: logging trucks, ATVs, dirt bikers, campers and cows
Nestled out past Harvard, Idaho is Laird Park. This area has a seemingly endless variety of logging roads, ATV and dirt bike trails that are great to ride on. Parking here is fairly easy, with a dirt pullout located after the main camping area and also a wider area along the road just another few hundred yards past the pullout (if you hit where the road forks you have gone too far).
Riding out from the pullout, continue to where the road forks into three: two to the left and one to the right. Forest road 768 (First left): Riding down this road features high hills to one side and a lush, woody creek bed on the other. Keep riding until you make it you an open gravel pit, through which you will find a dirt road (46.957822685333674, -116.63850227704). Take this road to access several other paths, including a great gallop stretch. There are options to make a loop back to the main road as well!

Forest road 292 (First right): Take this road and cross the small bridge to access the excellent ATV trails that lead up fern covered gulches to wooded tunnels as you head up the mountain or take winding, more primitive trails up toward Bald Mountain. We enjoyed finding some small logs to jump in and around here!

I have not ridden up the second left hand turn (fsr 447) but from the maps, there appear to be more logging trails up this way. It is a steeper grade than the other roads, however, driving up this way 5 miles will take you to Lin Gulch which looks like a large open field/camping area (may require a pass from potlatch logging co.) which provides access to many more trails and roads (intel from the dirt bikers that use the area as well). So take a chance and go out, see what’s here and report back!
There are also more overgrown logging roads that can be ridden directly across from the dirt pullout parking area. These offer some great views and are nice if your are going closer to evening as it is a faster ride, more open and warmer too. The other trails can get cool in the evening as they are fairly shaded. This also makes them fantastic for the summer time riding!
